Sally Andrew
“The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention.”
~ Julia Margaret Cameron
Silver, Western & American Indian Cataloguer
Sally joined the Moran team in 2021.
Born and raised in Southern California, Sally was initially a client of John Moran Auctioneers before joining our preview staff in 2021. In her current role as the Silver, Western, and American Indian Cataloguer for our signature Art of the American West and Made in Mexico auctions, Sally is busy throughout the year processing more than 1000 lots.
Sally earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles in Art History, with a concentration in Native North American arts. This background, coupled with her experience in the time since, gives her a distinct advantage when reviewing the textiles, baskets, beadwork, and other indigenous objects of North America.
Sally further compliments her historical knowledge with several decades of practical experience working as a textile conservator in the UK and trained in this rarefied discipline at the Textile Conservation Centre at Hampton Court Palace in England and gained her Post-Graduate Diploma from the Courtauld Institute, University of London. Her eye for detail and ability to critically examine, analyze and convey information to clients is one of the most important aspects of her daily activities.
Ever the polymath, Sally has an interest in fashion design, astronomy, native gardening, hiking, and cooking, all activities she enjoys pursuing with her husband and daughter in her native home of the San Gabriels.
