Description
Lucie Hinden was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and has lived in Los Angeles since 1961.
In college, Hinden majored in French and minored in Art History. After her Junior Year in Paris where she had the opportunity to see the works she had only admired in books, she knew that art would play an important role at some time in her life.
During Hinden’s teaching career as a high school French and Spanish teacher, she incorporated art history into the curriculum whenever possible. After 35 years of teaching in 2006, she retired and turned to studying and making art full-time.
For the next 12 years, Hinden studied with Ilana Bloch in Los Angeles, and in her studio, found stimulating and like-minded artists.
Lucie Hinden is currently a member of several art organizations: Los Angeles Art Association, Jewish Artists Initiative, Collage Artists of America and Women Painters West. She has exhibited in many shows over the past decades, receiving awards on several occasions.
