Description
Laura Larson has exhibited her work throughout the United States and extensively in Southern California. She has been commissioned for seven public art installations in LA County and has received the Artist Resource for Completion Grant from the Durfee Foundation. Museum exhibitions include solo shows at The Museum of Art and History (MOAH) in Lancaster, The Riverside Art Museum, 3 solo shows at LAAA and inclusion in the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art – Sculpture SLAM survey of California sculptors. Her work reflects the dual interests of story-telling and theatrical production – the building blocks for her consistent interest in Sculptural Installations and Narrative Tableau. As a feminist Larson’s work has touched on 2 main topics: our relationship to nature and our animal co-inhabitants; and investigations of the cultural, historical, spiritual through lines of the female trinity: mind, body and spirit. She is currently creating small hybrid animal/human creatures in bronze, which will be exhibited at MOAH in 2023.
