Prior to joining Moran’s, Maranda owned and operated an antique business in Pasadena, CA specializing in fine and decorative arts from the turn of the century to the 1950s. For over ten years, she assisted in building many notable collections in Southern California with rare or hard to find objects de art.
As a Vice President of John Moran Auctioneers, Maranda oversees a variety of auction functions including being a Specialist and Head of Sale for Moran’s American Indian Art + Objects, Art of the American West, and the Made in Mexican auctions. As an appraiser she regularly attends to clients appraisal needs within these categories as well as the more general estate contents as a Generalist. Additionally, Maranda manages the staging of all of John Moran’s live auctions as well as being responsible for the design/build of the company’s state-of-the-art headquarters in Old Town Monrovia, CA. Her daily activities include client relations, evaluating incoming property, appraisal functions, phone bidding and spearheading special projects.
Maranda graduated from the University of California – Los Angeles with a degree in History/Art History. She has done post-baccalaureate studies in Interior Architecture at UCLA. Maranda is Uniform Standard in Professional Appraisal Practice qualified.
When not at work, she can be found adventuring with her family.
