MONROVIA, CA – Moran’s is kicking off a day of auctions with its Studio Furniture & Decorative Art auction on June 23rd at 10 am. Fresh off the success of their banner 20th Century Art + Design auction, Moran’s is pleased to offer over 50 lots of fine mid-century furniture, art, and décor in June’s sale. Collectors of traditional furnishings will find plenty of tempting options as well, all at approachable price points.

A strong selection of mid-century modern design is sure to appeal to collectors. A unique mid-century vanity dresser is one of Moran’s favorite items in the sale. Boasting drawers and a divided cabinet fitted with an unusual shoe rest, the piece is projected to bring between $800-1,200 at the block. For those that wish to turn the volume up to 11, a pair of London-made speakers from coveted maker Tannoy are sure to fit the bill. The pair are estimated to bring between $500-800. A beautiful Beatrice Wood vase in her imitable metallic glaze is estimated at $1,000-1,500.

Traditional furnishings from around the world abound at the sale. A Napoleon III crystal chandelier is in beautiful condition and should bring $1,000-2,000 at the block. A near-pair of French perfume bottles decorated with butterflies is a favorite of Moran’s and is projected to bring $800-1,200. A diminutive English slant-front desk would be the perfect fit for a space-conscious collector and is estimated at $400-600. A small but beautifully woven Heriz rug is sure to catch the eye of collectors and is estimated at a wallet-friendly $500-700.

For those looking to stock their china cabinet, Moran’s Studio Furniture & Decorative Art auction has ample options to choose from. An elegant set of Baccarat “Provence” stemware is estimated to bring $400-600 at the block. A Lalique “Barbade” bowl would make a superb statement on any table and is sure to sell between $300-500. A gorgeous set of flatware in the “King George” pattern by Gorham is one of many flatware services in the auction. The glittering set is estimated to bring $3,000-4,000. A partial set from Tiffany & Co. in their “English King” pattern would make a fine addition to any silver collection and is estimated to bring $2,000-3,000.
